UAE Embassy Attestation in Delhi

The UAE Government requires all professional, academic, educational and personal documents issued in India to be attested by MEA, the Home Department or HRD, and then by the UAE Embassy or Consulate in India. The embassy validates your documents before approving them.

Attestation process for the UAE

HRD, Home Department or SDM

HRD attestation
The State HRD attests educational certificates from government technical boards, universities, government schools, and medical and paramedical institutions. It verifies each document with the university or board first. Mantralaya attestation is also available (conditions apply).

Home Department
Authenticates non-educational certificates after verifying them with the respective departments.

SDM attestation
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate office is in New Delhi. After SDM, the certificate can go to the Ministry of External Affairs (conditions apply).
MEA attestation
The Ministry of External Affairs attests educational, non-educational and commercial documents issued in any Indian state. HRD, Home Department or SDM attestation must be done first.
UAE Embassy attestation
The UAE Embassy attests the documents once MEA attestation is complete.

Certificate attestation for the UAE

Educational and degree certificates

UAE authorities require educational and non-educational certificates issued in India to be legalised by the relevant Indian authorities and the UAE Embassy or Consulate before a visa is issued. If your employer is in the UAE, you cannot submit certificates to UAE authorities directly, so attestation must be completed first.

The certificate first gets a verification stamp from the university or college. It then goes to the State HRD, then MEA, and finally the UAE Embassy. Without HRD attestation you cannot get a work permit from the Ministry of Labour in the UAE.

Marriage certificate

Required for a family visa, adding your spouse to your passport, hospital admission for delivery, and applying for a child's passport.

Process: State Notary, State Home Department, MEA, then UAE Embassy. Time: 5 to 7 working days, depending on the countries involved.

Divorce certificate

Proves that a marriage was legally dissolved and that you hold single status, for migration or employment.

Process: State Notary, MEA, then UAE Embassy. Documents: passport copy, original certificate, recent photographs, authorisation letter and visa copy.

Birth certificate

Birth certificates are personal documents. Attestation is needed for a resident or student visa for the UAE.

Process: State Notary Public, Home Department or HRD, Ministry of External Affairs, then UAE Embassy. A mistake in any step can delay or reject the attestation.

Death certificate

Attested so the certificate can be used in the UAE. We prepare, obtain and file all required documents on your behalf.

Process: State Notary Public, Home Department or HRD, Ministry of External Affairs, then UAE Embassy.

Business and commercial documents

Needed to start a business or export to the UAE. Examples: power of attorney, invoices, shareholder certificates, board resolutions, certificate of origin and Memorandum of Association.

Process: Chamber of Commerce (any chamber in India), MEA in New Delhi, then UAE Embassy or Consulate. Time and charges depend on your requirements.

Are scanned copies acceptable in place of original copies for attestation?

For the final UAE Embassy attestation in Delhi, original copies are required. Scanned copies may be used for initial review only. Talent MEA Center handles your originals carefully.

Will spelling errors on my certificate impact the attestation process?

Do I need attestation if I am on a short-term visit visa to the UAE?
